Palm fatty acid distillate (PFAD) is a by-product from refining crude palm oil. It is a light brown solid at room temperature, melting to a brown liquid on heating.

Although the PFAD is a by-product from the palm oil production, PFAD has considerable value, and is more or less 100% utilized. It is used as feedstock for many different products for animal feeds, laundry soaps, the oleochemical industry
